In Russia, 18,819 new cases of COVID-19 were detected per day

Over the past day, 18,819 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Russia. This is evidenced by the data of the operational headquarters for combating the spread of coronavirus infection.

Hospitalization was required in 1,017 cases, which is 53.2% less than on October 8. At the same time, in 9 regions an increase in the number of people who applied for medical care was recorded, in 70 subjects this indicator decreased, and in 6 more there were no changes.

28,793 people have recovered in the last 24 hours. 102 patients have died.

Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, announced an intensive decrease in the incidence of COVID-19 in Russia. She drew attention to the fact that now the coronavirus behaves like the usual seasonal respiratory viruses.

Meanwhile, Rosstat decided to stop publishing operational data on mortality due to coronavirus. This is due to the decrease in the number of deaths during the summer.
