In Russia, 8,672 infected with COVID-19 were detected per day

The number of cases of coronavirus infection in Russia per day amounted to 8,672, the operational headquarters for the fight against infection said.

At the same time, 662 patients needed hospitalization, 10,578 patients were cured, 88 died, the report said.

A day earlier, slightly more cases were detected in the country — 9,348, the rest of the daily indicators were also higher — 90 people died, 15,035 recovered.

The total number of people infected with COVID-19 in Russia since the beginning of the pandemic has increased to 21,372,935, deaths to 389,537, recovered to 20,719,106.

Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, allowed unvaccinated Russians arriving in the country from abroad not to take PCR tests for coronavirus.
