In Russia, 7,518 cases of coronavirus infection were detected per day

Over the past day, 7,518 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the Russian Federation, 1,451 people have been taken to hospitals with a confirmed diagnosis, according to the data of the operational headquarters for combating the disease.

Also during the day, 80 patients died from the consequences of the infection, 11,517 people fully recovered.

In total, since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, 21,394,360 cases of the disease have been detected in the country, 20,751,864 people have recovered.

Earlier, the WHO reported that the number of cases of coronavirus in European countries is growing, which indicates the beginning of a new wave of the pandemic. The organization added that vaccination is still the main tool against influenza and COVID-19.

The head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, in turn, said that in 2022, an increased incidence of influenza is expected in the world. In this regard, the Russian ministry has already purchased an influenza vaccine, which has begun to be delivered to the regions.
