Meteorological dependence is not considered a disease, which means that sick leave is impossible. “This is the hypersensitivity of the body to changes in weather conditions. It can also manifest itself in healthy people, — explains psychoendocrinologist Mikhail Bogomolov. — If climate features interfere with normal life, we are talking about meteopathy — a painful condition that occurs due to disturbances in the work of the endocrine, circulatory, cardiovascular and other body systems. In some, pressure jumps, in others, joints swell. But doctors in this case will make a specific diagnosis: say, “arterial hypertension”. As a rule, it is impossible to determine unequivocally that it is caused precisely by a change in the weather.
