The problem of infertility affects not only medical aspects. The reasons may be psychological or social. Unfortunately, the statistics here are disappointing — in developed countries, the percentage of infertile couples can reach up to 19%. However, various reasons can lead to infertility — a lack of movement, stress, lack of adequate rest, environmental pollution, an unhealthy lifestyle, and an unbalanced diet. In addition, many spouses do not want children for a certain period of time and take contraceptives for a long time, which negatively affects the woman’s reproductive system. So the reasons can be both objective and subjective.
In theory, any woman can give birth to children in the interval between the first and last menstruation. However, fertilization will only be possible if there is regular ovulation. Successful conception is less possible when a woman has already crossed the threshold of 35 years, and after 40 this probability decreases even more. Moreover, the problem of infertility is always a couple’s problem. It is likely that if you change your partner, conception would occur without any problems. Unfortunately, there was a period when infertility was blamed solely on the woman. Modern medical statistics claim that 45% of cases are failures in the female body, 45% are the fault of the man, and in 10% of cases it is not possible to determine the cause.
There are many stages in the entire process of childbearing, and failures can occur at each of them. The very first stage is the formation of eggs and sperm. The egg leaves the ovary at the time of ovulation, and at the time of ejaculation, sperm are released. The second stage is the penetration of the sperm into the egg, and for this they must be in the fallopian tube at the same time. So, the nuclei of two cells containing the genetic material merge. The third stage is the division of the fertilized egg, leading to the development of the embryo. The fourth stage is the introduction of the embryo into the endometrium, while the uterine mucosa must be ready for such an implementation. In the future, the development of the embryo begins — there should also be no failures here, until the moment the baby is born. However, modern medicine is able not only to identify the cause, but also to eliminate it.
