The prob­lem of infer­til­i­ty affects not only med­ical aspects. The rea­sons may be psy­cho­log­i­cal or social. Unfor­tu­nate­ly, the sta­tis­tics here are dis­ap­point­ing — in devel­oped coun­tries, the per­cent­age of infer­tile cou­ples can reach up to 19%. How­ev­er, var­i­ous rea­sons can lead to infer­til­i­ty — a lack of move­ment, stress, lack of ade­quate rest, envi­ron­men­tal pol­lu­tion, an unhealthy lifestyle, and an unbal­anced diet. In addi­tion, many spous­es do not want chil­dren for a cer­tain peri­od of time and take con­tra­cep­tives for a long time, which neg­a­tive­ly affects the wom­an’s repro­duc­tive sys­tem. So the rea­sons can be both objec­tive and sub­jec­tive.

In the­o­ry, any woman can give birth to chil­dren in the inter­val between the first and last men­stru­a­tion. How­ev­er, fer­til­iza­tion will only be pos­si­ble if there is reg­u­lar ovu­la­tion. Suc­cess­ful con­cep­tion is less pos­si­ble when a woman has already crossed the thresh­old of 35 years, and after 40 this prob­a­bil­i­ty decreas­es even more. More­over, the prob­lem of infer­til­i­ty is always a cou­ple’s prob­lem. It is like­ly that if you change your part­ner, con­cep­tion would occur with­out any prob­lems. Unfor­tu­nate­ly, there was a peri­od when infer­til­i­ty was blamed sole­ly on the woman. Mod­ern med­ical sta­tis­tics claim that 45% of cas­es are fail­ures in the female body, 45% are the fault of the man, and in 10% of cas­es it is not pos­si­ble to deter­mine the cause.

There are many stages in the entire process of child­bear­ing, and fail­ures can occur at each of them. The very first stage is the for­ma­tion of eggs and sperm. The egg leaves the ovary at the time of ovu­la­tion, and at the time of ejac­u­la­tion, sperm are released. The sec­ond stage is the pen­e­tra­tion of the sperm into the egg, and for this they must be in the fal­lop­i­an tube at the same time. So, the nuclei of two cells con­tain­ing the genet­ic mate­r­i­al merge. The third stage is the divi­sion of the fer­til­ized egg, lead­ing to the devel­op­ment of the embryo. The fourth stage is the intro­duc­tion of the embryo into the endometri­um, while the uter­ine mucosa must be ready for such an imple­men­ta­tion. In the future, the devel­op­ment of the embryo begins — there should also be no fail­ures here, until the moment the baby is born. How­ev­er, mod­ern med­i­cine is able not only to iden­ti­fy the cause, but also to elim­i­nate it.
