Pro­longed inflam­ma­tion of the stom­ach, accom­pa­nied by an increase in gas­tric secre­tion, is called hyper­acid gas­tri­tis. This dis­ease is wide­spread among the pop­u­la­tion, accom­pa­nied by symp­toms such as pain in the epi­gas­tric region, bouts of nau­sea and vom­it­ing that does not bring relief, heart­burn, and so on. One of the most impor­tant points in the treat­ment of this dis­ease is the obser­vance of a spe­cial diet. Below we will talk about what foods you can eat with inflam­ma­tion of the gas­tric mucosa, con­sid­er a diet for hyper­acid gas­tri­tis.

As we have already said, hyper­acid gas­tri­tis is a chron­i­cal­ly occur­ring pathol­o­gy. Chron­ic gas­tri­tis is the most com­mon chron­ic inflam­ma­to­ry dis­ease affect­ing the stom­ach, which has been proven by sci­en­tists from the Med­ical Acad­e­my. S.I. Georgievsky in a paper pub­lished in 2020.

Features of nutrition for gastritis with high acidity

Hyper­acid gas­tri­tis is an indi­ca­tion for the appoint­ment of treat­ment table No. 1, which is also used for ulcer­a­tive lesions of the gas­troin­testi­nal tract.

The mean­ing of this diet is to pro­tect the stom­ach as much as pos­si­ble from var­i­ous irri­tat­ing influ­ences, reduce the pro­duc­tion of hydrochlo­ric acid, and exclude indi­gestible food.

The main part of the prod­ucts should be con­sumed in grat­ed, fine­ly chopped, mushy form, with the excep­tion of meat and fish (served as a whole piece).

Of the heat treat­ment meth­ods, pref­er­ence is giv­en to boil­ing or steam­ing. Some­times you can afford baked food with­out a crust. Fried food is strict­ly pro­hib­it­ed.

Any spicy, fat­ty, over­ly salty, sour, smoked and canned foods are com­plete­ly exclud­ed from the diet. Salt intake should be lim­it­ed to 10 grams per day. It is also rec­om­mend­ed to avoid foods that con­tain too much fiber.

Treat­ment table No. 1 implies com­pli­ance with the tem­per­a­ture regime. The food you eat should be warm—not too hot and not too cold.

It is impos­si­ble not to say about such an impor­tant point as frac­tion­al nutri­tion. The opti­mal reg­i­men is con­sid­ered to be 5 or 6 meals per day in small por­tions.

To begin with, a sick per­son needs to give up fresh and baked goods made from rye flour, prod­ucts made from puff or pas­try. Do not eat fat­ty and over­ly acidic dairy prod­ucts. From fish prod­ucts, fat­ty fish, canned and salt­ed fish are pro­hib­it­ed. The same restric­tions apply to meat.

Bar­ley, mil­let, bar­ley and corn grits should be exclud­ed from cere­als. Beans and peas, any salt­ed, pick­led veg­eta­bles, white cab­bage and mush­rooms, onions and gar­lic — all this is pro­hib­it­ed. In addi­tion, you should not include sour and unripe fruits and berries in your diet.

What can you eat on the #1 diet? Allowed to use:

    stale bakery products made from wheat flour;
    dairy products (non-acidic and low-fat);
    vegetable soups with the addition of well-boiled cereals;
    lean meats and fish;
    buckwheat, oatmeal, risk, semolina;
    carrots, beets, potatoes;
    ripe and sweet fruits and berries.
