Stretch marks or, in other words, striae, are scars located on the inner skin layers, translucent through the thinned top layer. Such marks are unpleasant, but it is almost impossible to avoid them. Of course, there are rare cases of positive heredity — so if your mother endured you without stretch marks, then most likely this problem will not affect you either.

Almost any woman during pregnancy asks the question “how can stretch marks be prevented?” Because in this period there is a rapid weight gain and inelastic inner skin fibers simply tear. Hormonal changes can also lead to such gaps, as well as a general increase in the sensitivity of the body (including the skin) to external influences.

Expectant mothers know many ways to prevent the appearance of stretch marks, and here there are both folk and medications. No method can give a full guarantee, but it is quite possible to reduce the amount or severity. Firstly, it is advisable to wear special supportive underwear during pregnancy — and you will need not only a tummy tuck, but also an appropriate bra. Underwear should support, not squeeze, so it must be carefully selected according to your size and gestational age. As a preventive measure, a contrast or cool shower is also suitable — while taking a shower, perform a circular massage. You should not overdo it, because otherwise you risk getting hypothermia.

A softening and elastic effect can be obtained as a result of superficial peeling of the skin on the abdomen and chest. You will need gloves and appropriate exfoliating products. To prevent stretch marks, you can also regularly use creams with elastane — this will create an obstacle for internal skin tears. Or do a low-intensity massage with almond or olive oil. By the way, preventive measures should be started before the first stretch marks appear.

If striae still appear, then you should not despair. After giving birth, you can go to a beauty salon for a procedure such as mesotherapy. Your application must be made within the first year from the date of release from the burden.
